FAQ's
If your question isn't answered here please give us a call. We are happy to answer any questions or queries.
What if I haven’t done any art before?
Excellent, come and unleash your creativity with one of our many art courses suitable for all artistic levels. Each course description will have a suggested level: foundation, intermediate, advanced. If you are unsure what course is right for you please give us a call or email us and we will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
How much art experience do I have to have for the different stages?
Foundation- absolutely none!
Intermediate- one or two classes or you have been creating art at home for a while.
Advanced – you feel confident with a range of wet and dry materials and confident to be quite independent with your art making and exploration
How many people in each class?
All classes will have no more than 10 participants, unless otherwise stipulated
How long are the classes?
Each art course/class description will be between 2.5 and 3 hours long with a small break. Each class will start promptly and always aim to finish on time.
Do we have a break during an Art class?
There may be a small break to have a walk around or grab a drink. We do provide water, teas and coffee for you too.
What do I have to bring?
The only thing you will need to participate in a class is your receipt of payment and a positive attitude. It is best to wear or bring clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy or an apron.
Will I need to bring materials, paper or canvas with me?
No, for the majority of our courses materials are included in your course investment. For our Advanced Art classes and courses we advise artists to bring along their own materials as this is generally preferred once you have been creating art work for a while.
What do I wear?
Wear something comfy that you are not frightened to get a bit messy. You could always bring a change of clothes with you or an apron if you have one. For some classes covered shoes are preferable for safety reasons.
Will we be standing or sitting?
There is most likely to be a combination of both during any Art class. However sitting or standing to create art work is generally a personal choice and optional. If you do think you may need special requirements here get in touch with us and we are happy to assist you as much as possible.
What parking is available?
We can assist with parking advice if you need it.
Do you have toilets?
Yes
I am quite nervous about doing a class should I do it?
Many people who come to Active Art Studios have never done ANY art making before. In our experience once they have come along and got that first class out the way they feel a sense of achievement and confidence to come back the following week. Our Art classes and courses are designed so that you get the support and encouragement you need for your art making journey.
Can I bring my child along while I do my art class?
We find for most people their Art class is time out for themselves, however we do understand that on a rare occasion this may not be possible. If this is the case, there may be a possibility that your child can come along and this will depend on the nature of the class and number of people participating. Please let us know if you need to bring your child along to your art class. 0404 509 911.
